Myofascial release (MFR ARE YOU SUFFERING FROM?
Have you ever been in a car accident or fell skiing, snowboarding, fell from a horse or been in any kind of trauma where you have had huge impact on your body and started to feel pain that spread thru the body and never seems to go away? Have you been told by physician, WHAT IS MYOFASCIAL RELEASE? Myofascial release is a whole-body, hands-on approach for the evaluation and treatment of the human structure. Its focus is the fascial system. Physical trauma, an inflammatory or infectious process, or structural imbalance from dental malocclusion, osseous restriction, leg length discrepancy, and pelvic rotation all may create inappropriate fascial strain. WHAT IS FASCIAL SYSTEM? The fascial system surrounds, infuses with, and has the potential to influence profoundly every muscle, bone, nerve, blood vessel, organ, and cell of the body. Fascia also separates, supports, connects, and protects everything in the body from head to toe. This three-dimensional web of connective tissue is alive and ever changing as the body demands. Thus it is a network for information exchange, influencing and influenced by every structure, system, and cell in the organism. It is proven that if you remove bones and every organ in the body, fascia will still retain its body shape, that's how strong it is. It also appears that fascia stores memories and motions. WHAT IS FASCIAL RESTRICTION? Fascial strains can slowly tighten, causing the body to lose its physiologic adaptive capacity. Over time, the tightness spreads like a pull in a sweater or stocking. Flexibility and spontaneity of movement are lost, setting the body up for more trauma, pain, and limitation of movement. These powerful fascial restrictions begin to pull the body out of its three-dimensional alignment. BENEFITS OF MYOFASCIAL RELEASE Myofascial release, along with therapeutic exercise, and movement therapy improve the vertical alignment and lengthen the body, providing more space for the proper functioning of osseous structures, nerves, blood vessels and organs. The goal is to remove fascial restrictions and restore the body's balance. When the structure has been returned to a balanced state, it is realigned with gravity. |
